From lab to market: their journeys

On December 3rd, the Arbour Foundation hosted an exceptional evening of innovation and networking titled “From Lab to Market,” bringing together nearly 100 participants. They had the opportunity to discover inspiring journeys of researchers and entrepreneurs who are turning science into concrete solutions for a better future, as well as enjoy numerous networking opportunities.

Three panelists captivated the audience with their presentations: Madline Sauvage, founder of SensÈn, introduced her innovative breast cancer diagnostic tool based on G-FETs and her efforts to make this technology accessible; Samuel Gilbert, founder of Hexpersciance, who leverages his scientific expertise to support SMEs with innovative psychometric tools; and finally, Félix-Antoine Lebel, CEO of SysNergie, who uses electric motorcycle racing as a testing ground to develop modular batteries for various industries.

The event brought together a diverse community that included Arbour scholarship recipients, partners, and members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Among the distinguished guests were Joanne Castonguay, Health and Welfare Commissioner; Robert Panet-Raymond, Chair of the Board of the Autorité des marchés financiers; Kathy Baig, Executive Director of ÉTS; Philippe-Edwin Bélanger, Director of Graduate Studies and Student Success at INRS; Jacqueline Wallace, Director of Communications, External and International Relations at Polytechnique Montréal; Valérie Bélisle, Executive Director of the Foundation and Alumni Relations at Polytechnique Montréal; Lyne Dubois, Director of Philanthropic Development at Université Laval; Nancy Lepage, Director of Alumni and Philanthropy Services at ÉTS; and Josianne Lafantaisie, Philanthropic Development Advisor at the INRS Foundation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to V1 Studio and Diana Horrque’s team, as well as the D3 hub—especially Riley McGregor Mann and Andrea Betts—for their logistical support and warm hospitality. A huge thank you also goes to our volunteers and Arbour scholars, Emna Ben Jelili, Catherine Boily, Floriane Miquet-Westphal, and Alexis Perreault, for their invaluable involvement, and to those who organized carpooling from Québec City and Sherbrooke, Benjamin Turgeon and Berthié Gouin-Ferland. This evening beautifully illustrates the strength of the Arbour community: building bridges between research, innovation, and the market, and empowering its scholars to shine and help shape the future of Québec and the world.
