Our Scholarships

Our scholarships are among the highest in the country. Furthermore, we are one of the few funding organizations in Canada to consider applications from international students. We fund students at our partner universities in the fields of engineering, computer science, and business administration.

Doctoral scholarships are offered
in three key fields for the future of Quebec.

Our scholarships cover a wide range of academic disciplines to support
the diversity of research in Quebec. However, the list of eligible programs may vary
from one university to another, so we recommend checking directly with the institution concerned.

Testimonials

I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Foundation for this wonderful program. My mentor has been particularly amazing, both personally and professionally, where she truly acts as an experienced advisor, always ready to help me benefit from her impressive network! This mentorship program has far exceeded my expectations and represents an important source of support from the Foundation. Once again, a huge THANK YOU!

My mentor has been more than a mentor to me. He not only gave me a “new” perspective on myself, including my strengths and weaknesses, but also shared his own perspective of me. He guided me through my countless existential questions and understood my situation and concerns. Thanks to him, I dared to step outside my comfort zone, and I am particularly proud of that today. He has had a lasting and positive impact on my journey. Thank you to the Foundation for both the financial and moral support. Without you, these past few years would have been much more difficult. I have no words to express how grateful I am.

I would like to thank the Arbour Foundation and my mentor for being there for me and for sharing your valuable experiences. Your entrepreneurial talents have earned you many admirers. You are truly a great source of inspiration to me. Please accept my sincere gratitude for the time, support, and patience you have given me. Thank you for guiding me in the right direction.

When I was offered the opportunity to participate in the Arbour Foundation’s mentorship program, I was not aware of the benefits it could bring to my studies or career. Eventually, I applied, hoping to find quick answers and advice on integrating into Canadian society and starting a career in Quebec after graduation. Today, I am glad I decided to apply to the program, and I consider myself very fortunate to have been accepted. I learned a great deal from my mentor and feel privileged to have such a positive relationship with such an inspiring person. Her advice and guidance helped me overcome many challenges, both personally and academically. Her moral support and encouragement gave me the self-confidence I greatly needed, pushing me to make courageous decisions and reach new heights. Above all, my mentor was a friend with whom I could discuss academic topics, career opportunities, politics, and philosophy of life. I am grateful to have known her!

Supporting Technological Entrepreneurship

The Arbour Foundation supports the transition from research to market by supporting researchers, students, and partnerships that transform scientific advances into technology companies.

Our Approach

At the Arbour Foundation, we believe that Quebec’s economic growth also depends on the development of technological entrepreneurship. In addition to our regular scholarships, we also fund the transformation of technology and deep-tech projects into start-ups, from the university laboratory to market launch. According to some experts, the conversion rate of university technology projects into start-ups is approximately 10% in Boston, compared with less than 1% in Montreal. This is precisely where we want to make a difference: we want to support students who wish to take their research beyond the laboratory and put it into practice for the benefit of society.

PARTNERSHIP

Arbour Foundation × Centech

The Arbour Foundation has partnered with Centech to support innovative technology companies emerging from its Propulsion program. Through the awarding of scholarships, this partnership supports promising entrepreneurs in developing their projects and fosters impact-driven entrepreneurship that contributes to Quebec’s economic growth.

PARTNERSHIP

Arbour Foundation × IVADO

In partnership with IVADO, the Arbour Foundation supports scientific entrepreneurs who transform cutting-edge research in digital intelligence into concrete solutions. Through complementary funding offered as part of the Mitacs Accelerate program, the Foundation facilitates collaborative research projects that are essential to the development and innovation of their companies.
